Privacy and Cookie Notice

Who is responsible

Trident Games operates the Trident app, website, and related services. Trident Games is owned and operated by Trevor Wright, a sole proprietor based in Tennessee, United States, who is responsible for your personal information. Privacy contact: admin@tridentgames.org. Mailing address: PO Box 432, Castalian Springs, TN 37031, United States.

Account and purchase information

We store your username, email address, protected sign-in information, account settings, memberships, permissions, and purchase records. We also keep account changes and security records. Passwords are stored as hashes rather than readable text, and authenticator secrets are encrypted. We never ask you to send passwords, reset links, or authenticator codes in support messages.

Device and usage information

While signed in to the desktop app, Trident reports connection status, operating system and version, CPU model, system architecture, approximate memory, and app version. It also reports games with active mod sessions and mod launches, loads, failures, and unloads. We record which account was served a mod or signed-in app download and its version. These reports can be incomplete and do not by themselves prove a download finished or a mod worked.

IP addresses and approximate location

We record IP addresses and coded PC identifiers for security and account management. When enabled, an IP lookup on our server estimates a country or region. This can be inaccurate, particularly with VPNs or shared networks. It does not collect GPS or your street address, or send your IP to an external location service.

Information kept on your device

Trident checks supported game installations and processes on your device to locate games and manage mods. Routine activity reports do not send your files, screenshots, browsing history, full software or process lists, hardware serial numbers, or local file paths. Diagnostics you choose to send may contain paths or game details, so review them before sharing. Saved desktop credentials use operating-system protection.

How we use and share information

We use account and purchase information to provide sign-in, recovery, purchases, and access. Device, activity, and network information help us provide support, maintain reliability, understand usage, and investigate abuse. Authorized administrators can view individual account and activity records; other members cannot. We may disclose relevant information when legally required or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims.

Service providers and payments

We use service providers to host Trident, deliver account emails, and process payments. These providers process personal information as needed to perform those services. Payments are processed through Stripe under its own terms and privacy notice. Trident does not receive your full payment card details, but retains purchase, subscription, and refund records to manage access and provide support. If you follow a link to an external service, such as Discord, its own privacy policy applies.

Cookies and local storage

Our store uses a necessary sign-in cookie with a configured one-hour lifetime. Signing out ends that browser session. The desktop app separately stores settings and protected sign-in credentials. We do not sell personal information or use advertising cookies or third-party marketing analytics in Trident. Stripe and external websites have their own privacy and cookie notices.

How long information is kept

Routine cleanup removes usage events, last device reports, and sign-in security history older than 90 days. Cleanup runs when the relevant service features are used, so older records may remain until the next cleanup. Storage limits can remove history sooner. Account, purchase, general audit, support, and backup records are handled separately and do not currently have automatic expiry. Retention for those records depends on account support, security, accounting, and legal needs; contact us about deletion.

Your choices and requests

Email admin@tridentgames.org to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy rights available where you live. We may need to verify that the account is yours, and some information may be retained for security, accounting, disputes, or legal obligations. You can ask us to review a decision about your request. You may also contact your privacy regulator where that right applies. Signing out or closing Trident stops desktop activity reports and connected features; there is currently no separate reporting opt-out.

Security and processing locations

We use encrypted connections, protected credentials, and restricted administrative access, but no service can guarantee absolute security. Service providers may process information outside the country where you live. Contact admin@tridentgames.org with questions about security or where your information is processed.

Children

Trident's minimum age is 13, or the higher minimum age for digital consent in your country; users below the local age of majority also need parent/guardian permission. Contact admin@tridentgames.org if you believe an ineligible child has provided personal information so we can investigate and address it.

Changes

We will date updates to this notice and notify users of material changes. Where required, we will obtain consent before a new use of personal information. Contact admin@tridentgames.org with privacy questions.
